Choosing a new ERP system is a significant undertaking. It can be confusing to know which solution is the best choice. There is much information out there, but it isn’t always straightforward. If you consider NetSuite a possible solution, we have information that may help your decision-making process.
Manufacturers use NetSuite and OptiPro Manufacturing with SAP Business One, but which is best suited for your business?
OptiPro Manufacturing is the number one ERP for small and midsize enterprises. It takes SAP Business One’s business management functionality and seamlessly combines it with robust manufacturing capabilities to provide a complete business solution for manufacturers.
OptiPro Manufacturing has deep industry expertise and is built using manufacturing best practices. It is an intuitive solution with features that provide easy control, clear visibility, and quick insights to help you lower the cost of managing your business. OptiPro Manufacturing is built on a best-in-class, heavily invested platform that provides more reliability, flexibility, scalability, and control to ensure you’re made for the future. It is available both on the cloud and on-premise.
NetSuite is deployed only through the cloud. NetSuite was founded in 1998 as one of the first companies to provide business solutions over the cloud. It was acquired by Oracle in 2016. The cost of a NetSuite subscription is not fixed; it depends on the modules selected and the company’s size.
Multi-entity and global accounting and consolidation functionality is available at additional cost via NetSuite’s OneWorld module, which supports 27 languages, multiple currencies, and tax codes. NetSuite was written before many of the latest web technologies were standardized and has limited database export capabilities.
We narrowed our choice down to OptiPro Manufacturing and NetSuite but ultimately found OptiPro's functionality a better fit. OptiPro Manufacturing had our two main carriers, UPS and FedEx, tied into shipping, but with NetSuite, it would have been an add-on. When we asked OptiPro if we could add a field for voltage and frequency right off the bat, they said it was not a problem. NetSuite never responded. It was easy to get answers from OptiPro, but with NetSuite, you had to wait and wait and wait. Ultimately, OptiPro Manufacturing just seemed to fit us a lot better.

In its comparison, G2 found SAP Business One easier to use, set up, and administer than NetSuite. Overall, they preferred doing business with SAP Business One.
As we went through the evaluation stages and took deeper dives, many just didn’t have the functionality we needed. Oracle NetSuite paid more attention to accounting than manufacturing and management didn’t like the user interface.
We looked at several other ERP solutions, like NetSuite, Odoo, Epicor, Bizowie, and ECi M1. OptiPro Manufacturing is the right-fit answer to carry us into the future.
