Ontario manufacturer streamlining operations to capitalize on Canadian tax, growth initiatives
Irvine, CA – March 15, 2023 – M.I.S. Electronics Corp., an Ontario, CN-based printed circuit board manufacturer, is deploying OptiProERP with SAP Business One to handle its rapid growth and manufacturing operations.
Updating its ERP to a modern business system is part of M.I.S. Electronics’ digital transformation, including a multi-million-dollar investment in new manufacturing equipment and technologies. The company plans to participate in recently announced Canadian manufacturing incentives and grow as more and more firms relocate manufacturing operations from China and Asia to North America.
“With recent changes to the global economy, strained supply chain challenges, and capacity limitations by parts manufacturers around the world, a new ERP was required with full capabilities,” says Saeid Mohmedi. For the past 17 years, M.I.S. Electronics operated on a legacy ERP that required a lot of customization and didn’t meet its quoting, operations, or efficiency needs as it grew larger. Most importantly, they look forward to having access to real-time information, including inventory on hand and historical price data, which will allow them to provide customer quotes faster and make data-driven decisions. Having deep data insights will allow M.I.S. Electronics to better understand the profitability of its customers and products and will help them be more competitive.

In today’s global environment and supply chain disruptions, customers need to work with flexible manufacturers that offer batch processing or the ability to make small runs of, say, 1,000 or 10,000 circuit boards in a specified time frame when, for example, parts shortages hamper or delay a larger production run. Customers need reliable, real-time status updates and manufacturers that can flex operations when required.
